Description

well, i know this is kind of a random strange drawing...but hey, whatever!!!lol

i just downloaded the trial version of corel IX and i wanted to try it out.
this pretty much represents my favorite part of summer, that first magical step into the sand...the one that really tells you that summer is here, this is simply an ode to a wonderful summer,

one which i will miss and always think of fondly!!! :)

i will definitely put some countour on the next version , but for now.... i will leave it as it is, that way i get as many crits as i can, and apply them to future drawings... i really want to improve... thanks so much baka!!!! :)

got me beat I have the program but just haven't been able to get started, so my hats off to you,,I always find it interesting when othes post, things I would never draw or paint, and they make it so attractive. I like the soft pallete but agree with abbas, but I know it takes time and your excited to learn, with that said I look forward to seeing what you accomplish.

good first step (pun intended)....remember to focus on things like proportion, contrast and perspective. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your progression with this new medium :)

mmmmm, lack of pixelness is yummy, good start, but the sand looks like a hideuous lump of filtered texture, i made that mistake once, you can see it on my tau pic, *shudder*

lol, wow i didnt think the sand was that bad kalathis, especially because i didnt use any filters...lol. oh well, something to work on next time

thanks for the comment.

i know you didn't use any filters, i'm betting you used impasto, or lumpy acrylics. and i have a tendancy to exagerate things. (or oversimplify them )

dont use a texture to make up for time u want to spend on a piece.

if you're done, you're done.

Dont fake itl

everywhere i looked this summer people were wearing flip flops....i think clairvoyant is talking about how the sand seems to be one solid texture, which cheapens the image a tad. if it was done by hand, its too uniform. but it took the comment to make me go up and really look over the image to find it. not completely obivious to the casual viewer.
